Beast In Black is an international heavy metal and power metal band based in Helsinki, Finland. It was founded in 2015 by guitarist and main songwriter Anton Kabanen after he left his former band Battle Beast. The current lineup, besides Anton, includes Greek vocalist Yannis Papadopoulos, known for his demonically versatile vocal range, Hungarian bassist Máté Molnár, and Finnish drummer Atte Palokangas.
Their musical style is very unique and highly recognizable, perfectly blending the aggressive guitar riffs of traditional heavy metal with 80s pop/disco, Eurobeat, and cyberpunk synthesizers. This highly catchy style, which makes people want to dance at the live house, is often jokingly called "Disco Metal" by fans.
Since their debut album "Berserker" in 2017 shot them to fame, their subsequent releases "From Hell With Love" (2019) and "Dark Connection" (2021) have achieved excellent sales in Europe and received gold and platinum certifications. Beast In Black's visual and lyrical core is closely tied to the classic dark fantasy manga "Berserk," creating the band's exclusive mascot, the "Black Beast"; later, they extended their reach to sci-fi and worlds like "Blade Runner," even collaborating with Blizzard Entertainment's "Diablo IV" on a crossover single.
