Taiwan∞Spain 1626 Navigator Four Hundred Years First Contact Opera Dance Concert
This is an opera dance concert themed around the first encounter between Spanish navigators and Taiwan in 1626. It is directed and conducted by Professor Tseng Tao-hsiung and combines performances by the Taipei Opera Chorus, the Taiwan Hakka Mountain Song Troupe, and professional dancers. The program skillfully blends Spanish Flamenco, classical opera, and Taiwanese indigenous and Hakka music elements. Through moving songs, dances, and drama, it recreates the joys and sorrows and cultural collisions of that historical encounter four hundred years ago.
