Taiwan Hakka Culture Park Educational Promotion Courses (April-June 2026)
Event Content:
【Farmstead Hakka Houses】April 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 / May 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31
The traditional architecture of Hakka villages in northern Taiwan is mostly presented in the form of "Hakka houses (伙房)", carrying the memories of family communal living and gatherings. Although few people live in them today, we can still find complete or modified Hakka house structures between villages, quietly telling the stories of time. This course will guide participants to understand Hakka houses, learn about their architectural features and residential culture, while incorporating practical Hakka language learning.
We invite everyone to step into Hakka village life together, feeling the wisdom and warmth of the past within every brick and tile 🏠
Handicraft Item: Mosaic Coaster $100/each
【May Snow Fluttering】April 18, 25, 26 / May 1, 2
Every year during the transition between spring and summer, the tung blossoms blooming around Miaoli resemble falling snow. When the wind blows, it looks like snow fluttering in May, forming one of Taiwan's most beautiful flower sea landscapes. This course not only explores the historical connection between tung blossoms and the Hakka people but also, from cultural and environmental perspectives, examines how the beautiful May Snow, once an economic crop, transformed into a modern cultural and creative industry with tourism value.
Everyone is welcome to visit the Miaoli mountain town in April and May to personally experience the blooming May Snow scenery.
Handicraft Item: Silk-screen Tote Bag $100/each
【You're Hakka Once You Come】June 6, 7, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21
Using Hakka culture as a guide and starting from architectural space, this course leads participants into a cultural venue with a Green Building Label, introducing the nine major indicators of green building and the practical spirit of ecological engineering methods. Through course guidance, sustainable concepts are transformed into energy-saving and waste-reducing actions in daily life, making environmental protection a part of everyday living.
Come together and take your Hakka memories home!
Handicraft Item: Mugwort Hammer $150/each
Target Audience: General public, on-site registration.
