Taiwan Folk Tones Collection - Ch'u Ch'un-ch'uan and the Taoyuan Chinese Orchestra
Chief Conductor Ch'u Ch'un-ch'uan (瞿春泉) of the Taoyuan Chinese Orchestra wields the baton to paint contemporary Chinese Orchestra soundscapes. Sound is not just melody, but flowing cultural memory. The performance works are centered around Maestro Ch'u's compositions, unfolding a sonic map that blends humanistic sentiment and ethnic colors through works spanning regions and themes. Maestro Ch'u has long been deeply involved in Chinese Orchestra composition and arrangement. His works cover forms such as ensemble, silk and bamboo, and concertos, combining delicate depiction with stage tension, transforming life observations into poetic music.
Internationally renowned violinist Lin Pin-jen (林品任) is specially invited to perform the classic piece "The Butterfly Lovers" Violin Concerto, made even more深情 and moving against the backdrop of the Chinese Orchestra arrangement. The concert also presents diverse cultural styles: Taoyuan Chinese Orchestra performer Sung Yu-chieh (宋雨潔) uses the unique timbre of the sheng to depict the indigenous mythical imagery of "Paiwan Mythology." "Taiwan Folk Tones Collection" reflects local emotions. "Spring in Pamir" overflows with vast and unrestrained vitality. "By the Yarlung Tsangpo River" features a teacher-student duo on stage: senior member of the National Chinese Orchestra, Chen Ssu-yu (陳思伃), and Taoyuan Chinese Orchestra performer Liao Tzu-ling (廖紫伶), showcasing传承 and intergenerational dialogue.
You are cordially invited to appreciate Maestro Ch'u, the Taoyuan Chinese Orchestra, and outstanding performers jointly outlining the rich面貌 of contemporary Chinese Orchestra, feeling the flow and resonance of culture.
