Taitung Amis Sasalak Tribe Women's Traditional Attire RIKO / Traditional Lover's Bag ('alofo) Course

Date: 2026-03-14 — 2026-06-20 Organizer: 潘美蘭
The upper garment of Taitung women's attire varies according to each tribe's style. The skirt consists of a single green apron and a double-panel black skirt, with red piping around the edges. More exquisite versions include embroidery, with patterns differing by family design. The patterned cloth is tied on the right waist, opening on the left side to reveal the pattern of the inner skirt. The beautiful embroidered pattern in the center of the black cotton cloth represents a human figure, also symbolizing the concept of a family tree. The top is the sun, representing the mother, branching downwards into the entire family lineage, with horizontal and vertical ridge lines supporting the whole family. Starting from understanding Taitung Amis women's attire, which features a green apron in front and a black skirt panel on each side, plus leg coverings (which vary in color, being black/white or colored, depending on the tribe). It is hoped that through a platform like the Tribal University, everyone can learn about the attire of different Amis tribes.
