"State of Permeation" Yang Yu-ning × fu yue (甫月)
Mind Set Art Center will launch the first cross-disciplinary event "State of Permeation" by artist Yang Yu-ning (楊寓寧) and fashion brand fu yue (甫月) on May 30. This exhibition takes "fluidity" as its core, transforming static flat brushstrokes into dynamic images that unfold with bodily movement. Yang Yu-ning's ink traces permeate fu yue's tailoring structure, allowing art not only to remain within the frame but also to open new dialogues and extend new life in daily life and fashion.
Yang Yu-ning's creations reflect the unique contemplation of life and time by the younger generation. Through the permeation of aged ink on bark paper, she captures the flow of thoughts in one go. In the new work "Cold Water" (冷水), light ink outlines a vase of flowers emerging like a ghostly shadow from a black background—both a still-life portrait and a metaphor for the primordial form of life's gestation. Another work, "Summer Water" (夏水), uses thick ink and an offset perspective to show the physical layers of light penetrating vessels, transforming everyday imagery into a poetic sensory record.
Echoing this, fu yue's design sets this season's theme in a pure milky white world. Lines are simplified, and color is entrusted to "fluidity": pools, rain, the ocean, and beverages—these liquids burst into saturated brilliance upon contact with the body, then return to stillness as they dry.
The four ink works in the exhibition and the designer's clothing intersect and intertextualize in the gallery space, forming not only a combination of ink and dye but also a high resonance of concept and form, opening another fluid and open dialogue between art and design.
