This exhibition invites contemporary artist Yao Jui-chung (姚瑞中) to curate, leading 25 artists in a deep dialogue between folk culture and contemporary art, allowing faith to be not just a memory of the past but a continuous creation in life.

Through images, sound, materials, and participatory works, the exhibition guides everyone from "viewers" to "participants," feeling how folk customs constantly renew and negotiate in daily life, becoming our common language.

Tudigong (Earth God), as the deity closest to the locality, reminds us: grand stories are often hidden in the minutiae of daily life.
This exhibition invites you to return to a soft question — when folk customs are still happening, can we regard them as a form of ongoing contemporaneity?

As the curating artist for this exhibition, Yao Jui-chung has long focused on Taiwanese folk beliefs and deity culture. His creations span photography, installation, and video, often centering on deity statues, temples, and religious scenes. For example, his representative series "Giant Deity Connections" won the 16th Taishin Arts Award. It involved extensive visits to temples across Taiwan over a long period, photographing numerous giant deity statues, revealing through images the relationship between deity imagery and human desire projection. His series like "Hell is Empty" also use field investigation methods to photograph scenes of hell judgment in Taiwanese temples, presenting the unique cultural aesthetics of life, death, good, evil, and imagination in Taiwanese folk beliefs. This long-term and continuous creative context gives him high representativeness and research value in the field where contemporary art and folk beliefs intersect.

Art is never a single answer but a way of viewing the world. Everyone is welcome to enter the exhibition space and form their own feelings and interpretations amidst diverse perspectives.
