Smart Town (Episodes 1-2)

Bloody Smart (Ep. 1-2) is the first live-action series adapted from the works of horror manga master Junji Ito, starring Gigi Leung and Chen Yen-fei. Set in a remote town obsessed with academic success, a mysterious tree bearing fruit that supposedly sharpens the mind unleashes a wave of bizarre and terrifying events. A collaboration between Taiwanese and Japanese teams, this Taipei Film Festival 2026 gala screening faithfully recreates Ito's iconic horror elements while incorporating distinctive Taiwanese local flavor.
