The original play 'The Great Mosquito Move' uses a lighthearted and humorous approach to tell the story of Uncle A-tu from Happiness Village, whose improper water storage accidentally leads to a massive mosquito infestation, escalating into a war between humans and mosquitoes. Through the lively and amusing plot, it conveys the importance of 'environmental hygiene and epidemic prevention awareness,' allowing the audience to reflect on public health issues in daily life amidst laughter. Sheng Ping Wu Chou Yuan was founded in 1967 and is based in Hsilo Township, Yunlin County. It traces its artistic lineage to master Huang Hai-tai (黃海岱) and presents a diverse repertoire. The troupe has been selected as a TAIWAN TOP performing arts team for twelve consecutive years and has achieved excellent results multiple times in the Golden Palm Award competition at the Yunlin International Puppet Arts Festival. The current troupe leader, Lin Cheng-hsing (林政興), was honored with the 'Best Puppet Show Lead Performer Award' at the 2022 Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music. His distinctive five-tone clear narration and skill in interpreting the charm of Taiwanese poetry are highly recognized.
