Seven Jiao-tou Series Exhibition (II) Lunzai Ding Jiao – Step by Step Praying for Fortune, Luck Turns on Its Own

Date: 2026-01-01 — 2026-06-15 Organizer: 屏東縣政府
"Seven Jiao-tou Series Exhibition (II) Lunzai Ding Jiao – Step by Step Praying for Fortune, Luck Turns on Its Own" presents for the first time the complete historical context of "Lunzai Ding Jiao," one of the seven jiao-tou of Tungkang, from its fishing village settlement and environmental migration to the religious practices of the Chen-hai Temple.

The exhibition entrance begins with the Chen-hai Temple's fishing net caisson, symbolizing "hope," leading visitors into the life story of the jiao-tou closest to the sea. The site immersively recreates the ritual path of "Crossing the Lotus Flower Seven-Star Bridge" for altering fate using an arch structure, allowing visitors to experience the bodily sensation of entering the dragon's throat and exiting the tiger's mouth, and to understand the folk significance behind the ritual.

Furthermore, the exhibition gathers several precious artifacts from Chen-hai Temple, including a nearly sixty-year-old bronze bell, wooden sculptures of the King's Horse and horse groom, ritual tools used for fate alteration, spirit medium's dragon skirt and sleeves, and multiple sets of temple wood carvings, offering a rare close-up view for visitors.

From perspectives of local aesthetics, fate-altering rituals, and life faith, witness the resilience displayed by Lunzai Ding Jiao and Chen-hai Temple amidst change. Also, between the stories and exhibits, feel the local spirit of "step by step praying for blessings, fortune turns on its own."
