September 2026 Weekend FUN Movie: 'Everything Went Fine' (Protected Rating, 113 min)

Date: 2026-09-05 Organizer: 此活動無實體展演者
Synopsis:
When her father over eighty suddenly has a stroke, Emmanuelle shuttles between the hospital and home, having to face her depressed mother suffering from Parkinson's disease, while her father's former lover with whom he had an ambiguous relationship occasionally causes trouble. In her childhood, she often wished to kill him due to his strict discipline, and now her father makes a request to her: 'Please help me end all this!' leaving her with mixed feelings and in a dilemma. Facing her frail father who can no longer take care of himself, should she help him fulfill his wish to end his own life?

Adapted from the novel of the same name by Emmanuele Bernheim, screenwriter of 'Swimming Pool,' it tells her personal experience of helping her father with euthanasia. Euthanasia often involves heavy and complex ethical, moral, and legal issues, but under the pen of renowned French director Ozon, it is handled with lightness, using a gentle narrative and humorous tone to gaze upon the most profound period of time spent between father and daughter, delicately depicting the inner struggle and reluctance of a child. Sophie Marceau's deep and restrained performance makes this long farewell even more sincere and moving.
