Right Ahead: My Hakka Homeland Nestled Between Mountains and Waters Special Exhibition

This exhibition brings together the literary works of 20 Hakka writers spanning nearly a century. Through the combination of text and imagery, it presents the life of Hakka settlements in Pingtung nestled between mountains and waters.

Through the interweaving of literature and photography, it presents the lifestyle of Hakka culture and its changes through time. The exhibition is divided into three major themes: "One Mountain, One Water, One Hakka"; "Beautiful Times: Life, Local Customs, and Culinary Memories"; and "Graceful Response: Quiet Cultivation and Study, Clear Hakka Language." It incorporates Hakka proverbs, architectural and culinary elements, transformed through design into fashionable graphic presentations, showcasing a rejuvenated Hakka style.

The participating writers include Chung Li-ho (鍾理和), Feng Ch'ing-ch'un (馮清春), Lin Ch'ing-ch'uan (林清泉), Feng Hsi-hsiu (馮喜秀), Tseng K'uan (曾寬), Tseng Kuei-hai (曾貴海), Tseng Ts'ai-chin (曾彩金), Li Wang-t'ai (李旺台), Ch'iu Ts'ai-yen (邱才彥), Tseng Hsi-ch'eng (曾喜城), Li Yu-fang (利玉芳), Li Te-fu (李得福), Ch'en Ning-kuei (陳寧貴), Yen Chih-wen (顏志文), Tu Yao-ch'ang (涂耀昌), Chung Chen-pin (鍾振斌), Tu Hung (杜虹), Liu Chih-wen (劉誌文), Lo Hsiu-ling (羅秀玲), and Ch'en K'ai-ling (陳凱琳), totaling 20 writers. The time span is nearly a century, and their writings cover eight Hakka townships in Pingtung County, representing a rare large gathering of Hakka writers from Pingtung.
