"Recreating the Deep Purple Rock Epic" Rock band x VWSO
"Deep Purple Reborn: An Epic Rock Band and Wind Symphony Orchestra Concerto" is an innovative concert featuring the Victor Wind Symphony Orchestra collaborating with a rock band. The performance will revive Jon Lord's groundbreaking 1969 "Concerto for Group and Orchestra," the first work to fuse a rock band with a classical orchestra, delivering a cross-genre collision spanning half a century. The program also includes Jean Absil's "Roumaniana" and Johan de Meij's wind orchestra arrangement of Prokofiev's ballet "Romeo and Juliet," showcasing the diverse themes of "song" and "dance."
