Permanent Exhibition: "Old Neighbors in Tashi" - Life Stories of the Police Dormitory Complex

Date: 2026-01-01 — 2026-12-31 Organizer: 桃園市立大溪木藝生態博物館
"Old Neighbors in Tashi - Life Stories of the Police Dormitory Exhibition" is an exhibition full of the elements of "home" and "people." Located within a police dormitory complex that retains its living atmosphere, the exhibition uses the perspectives of police officers, former dormitory residents, and Tashi neighbors to examine the diversity and uniqueness of police duties in Tashi and their connection to everyday life. Through lively illustrations, audiovisuals, and installation art, oral memories are used to lead visitors into the living scenes and fascinating stories of this historical architectural dormitory complex.

The exhibition areas are divided into: an introductory story animation in the Ammunition Depot titled "Exploring Police Objects and Affairs"; "Neighbor Police on Duty" in the Welcome Hall; and "The Lives of Neighbor Police" in the Living Hall. This arrangement allows visitors to see not only the changes in the police system and settlements from the Japanese era to the post-war period, and the wide variety of duties of Tashi police, but also the close interactions between the police and their families living in the dormitory complex and the people of Tashi.
