Permanent Exhibition: Introduction to the Li Chin-hsing (李金興) Family & Life Scenario

Date: 2026-01-01 — 2026-06-30 Organizer: 桃園市立大溪木藝生態博物館
The Li family came from Changchou Prefecture, Chao-an County, Fukien Province during the Qing Dynasty and eventually arrived at Yuemei in Tahsi. The family operated the "Chin-hsing Trading House," becoming wealthy by transporting rice via the advantageous water transport of the Tahan River, and was renowned at the time for its benevolent and kind character.
The Li descendants were talented and numerous. Besides Li Teng-fang (李騰芳) (1814-1879), the only civil provincial graduate (文舉人) from Tahsi, this exhibition also presents the stories of Li Shih-chi (李詩計) (1911-1951), head coach of the Taiwanese national baseball team, and Li Hsuan (李宣) (1916-1995), a midwife and representative of Tahsi Township.

The exhibition is divided into two major areas: "Life Scenario" and "Family Introduction." The "Life Scenario" area is set up based on the Li family's stories, recreating the life scenes of a prominent family. The "Family Introduction" area uses graphic display panels, audiovisual materials, and artifacts to help audiences quickly grasp the Li family's history. The five themes include:

1. The Origins of the Li Chin-hsing Family
2. Baseball Pioneer Li Shih-chi
3. Tahsi Midwife Li Hsuan
4. Old Residence Model Theater
5. The Beauty of Architecture
