"Paiwan Tribe Ruvucan Bead Embroidery Body Aesthetics" Warrior Vest Geljep & Princess Headdress Tarar
This course continues the achievements of the 114th year's "Art on the Shoulders" course. With "wearable craft as cultural language" at its core, it focuses on two representative works: the "Paiwan Tribe Warrior Vest" and the "Paiwan Tribe Princess Headdress." It adopts cultural context introduction, analysis of pattern and color symbolism, demonstration of bead embroidery procedures, and segmented hands-on practice to strengthen participants' cultural understanding and craft completion abilities. Paiwan tribe attire is not only for external decoration but also carries symbolic meaning of social class (status hierarchy), reflected in differences in materials, techniques, pattern arrangement, and wearing methods. Bead embroidery is also an important craft for identity representation. The course emphasizes "understanding the relationship between Paiwan tribe attire and social class," guiding participants to design and produce while respecting cultural norms to avoid misuse of patterns. Participants will be able to clearly explain the cultural meaning and creative concept of their works during the成果展示 (achievement展示), achieving the goals of cultural preservation and promotion.
