NSO Chamber Music: "Strings on Clouds: The Shape of Sound" (NSO室內樂《絃上行雲──聲音的形狀》)

Date: 2026-11-08
NSO Chamber Concerts - Floating Clouds: The Shape of Sound is a bold跨界 experiment featuring six violists from the NSO and two modern dancers with Cloud Gate Dance Theatre backgrounds. In the intimate setting of the National Concert Hall, the performance explores how the vibrations of 36 strings collide with bodily movement to create the "shape of sound." With an穿插式 structure, the program lets the pure viola tone shine in works by Bartók and Bowen, while in pieces by Bach, Mahler, and Piazzolla, the dancers emerge like lingering souls, translating the music's structure and breath into movement. This跨界 adventure marks the NSO's 40th anniversary and invites audiences to break the boundaries of hearing, discovering that music can be a cloud, a gesture, or the beautiful curves traced by 36 strings in space.
