New Perspectives in Education: Textbook Transformation Practice Forum
"Not just a forum for sharing, but also a presentation of Taiwan's educational reform achievements."
Since its launch in 2021, the Textbook Design Award has leveraged cross-disciplinary resource integration, connecting publishers who actually publish textbooks, teachers deeply engaged in the teaching field, and designers with professional aesthetic sensibilities. This cross-sector collaboration has shattered the public's past imagination of traditional textbooks, bringing design thinking into schools and adding richer colors to teaching environments across Taiwan.
Over the five years of the project's promotion, the Textbook Design Award has accumulated many brilliant achievements. In 2026, not only will the third award competition be launched, but the project's ideals and practical results are also expected to be shared with the public. This forum is not just for reflection, but also for continuing to deepen engagement in the educational field, improving educational quality, hoping to attract more public attention, spark deeper dialogue, and provide more energy for Taiwan's education.
"Education is to reach unknown distant horizons, and design is the navigation map that ensures this journey does not get lost."
Design should not be a barrier to educational transformation, but a professional tool that exists to refine teaching experiences and reduce reading burdens. When design thinking enters teaching materials, it can help educators eliminate learning obstacles, organize information context, allowing competency-oriented teaching concepts to be more smoothly implemented on the front line.
This forum invites education innovation pioneer Professor Yeh Ping-cheng (葉丙成) and brand design master Director Feng Yu (馮宇). From the two professional perspectives of "Learning Experience Design" and "Teaching Material Visual Strategy," they will share how design can substantially assist the teaching field and witness the transformation results of innovative teaching materials in recent years.
