Music Picture Book "Momotaro" Silent Chamber Music 2026 Family Concert

Date: 2026-06-21 Organizer: 無聲室內樂
"Long ago, there was an old man and an old woman..." Wait, this Momotaro might be different from what you think! Perhaps the ogres on Oni Island love peace? And is Momotaro's motive truly for justice? This early summer, Silent Chamber Music will bring a unique family concert — "Music Picture Book: Momotaro". Drawing inspiration from the same-named short story by Japanese literary master Ryunosuke Akutagawa, breaking away from the traditional single perspective of "hero defeating ogres", it leads adults and children together to flip the fairy tale and rediscover this household story from a new angle. This performance also specially invites contemporary renowned composer Liu Wei-chih (劉偉志) to compose, using delicate and highly narrative compositional techniques to paint literary landscapes with musical notes, combined with the interpretation by five teachers of Silent Chamber Music — flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon — transforming the slightly sarcastic yet warm tension in Akutagawa's writing into rich layered auditory images! Silent Chamber Music sincerely invites you to gather with us at Wansha Art Center in Tainan at 14:00 on June 21! Open this surprise picture book woven by music and hear another face of the fairy tale! Performance repertoire| "Momotaro" Music Theater
