Miaoli County's 2026 Hakka Deep-Rooted Service Promotion Plan: Hakka Storytelling Activities (2 Sessions)

Date: 2026-08-23 Organizer: 魏淑英;張沛涵
To promote the downward rooting of the Hakka language, the "Miaoli County's 2026 Hakka Deep-Rooted Service Promotion Plan," organized by the Miaoli County Government, will launch lively and interesting "Hakka Storytelling Activities" from May 30 to August 30. It invites Hakka-speaking families who have been recognized by the Hakka Affairs Council, as well as adults and children, to come listen to stories and learn Hakka, playing while learning and learning while playing! This event enters communities, libraries, and parent-child spaces, using diverse methods such as picture book guided reading, fun interactions, hands-on DIY, cultural walking tours, and situational experiences to lead parents and children to encounter the Hakka language and local culture in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Through different themed courses, children can naturally learn Hakka while listening to stories, playing games, and engaging in hands-on experiences. Parents can also, through accompanying participation, rediscover the life charm and emotional connection of Hakka culture.
Modern families primarily communicate in Mandarin, leading to the rapid loss of mother tongue culture. To continue promoting the inheritance and development of the Hakka language, Miaoli County has planned a series of Hakka storytelling activities this time, hoping to allow the public to naturally encounter the Hakka language through lively and life-oriented methods during participation. Through story interactions, they can also learn about Miaoli's local cultural characteristics, further enhancing their sense of identity with the Hakka language and local culture, and jointly creating a Hakka-friendly environment.
