[Meet the Artist] The Fifth Game of Memory: When Media Reveal Distance — Traumatic Memory, Plural Co-creation, and Spatial Field
This artist talk, titled "The Fifth Gamble of Memory: When Medium Reveals Distance—Traumatic Memory, Plural Co-Creation, and Spatial Fields," explores how performance art’s sense of time, embodiment, and co-creative methods shift into the museum space, generating subjectivity through light, image, sound, and space rather than relying on the physical presence of actors. Artists Wang Fang-ning, Li Kuo-han, and Cheng Chao-en discuss how their works address others' traumatic memories without attempting to speak for or fill the absence of the traumatized, instead focusing on the presence of companions in plural co-creation, where distance is both maintained and revealed through media. Moderated by curator Wang Jui-hsu and joined by Wang Po-wei, Artistic Director of the Digital Art Foundation, this event offers deep insights into contemporary art, interdisciplinary creation, and trauma narratives.
