"It's the same one lifetime. I want to live it with a smile." Unstoppable Grandma Tetsuyo!

In the green mountains of Onomichi City, Hiroshima, centenarian Tetsuyo Ishii (石井哲代) lives alone in her old house. She was once a passionate elementary school teacher. After marriage, she had no children and spent half a century with her husband, becoming a widow at the age of 83. Yet, loneliness has not rusted her soul. This film was shot over three years, capturing Grandma Tetsuyo's daily life from age 101 to 104. Even as age gradually causes her body to "rust," she always gives her all to enjoy life. Growing old and being alone are not frightening. With her wrinkled yet warm hands, Grandma Tetsuyo demonstrates how to have a graceful and joyful century-long love affair with the world.
