Date: 2026-07-04 Organizer: 此活動無實體展演者
Synopsis:
To celebrate its 48th anniversary, Korean broadcaster MBC invested significant manpower and resources to produce the documentary "Tears of the Amazon." The filming crew ventured deep into Brazil's Amazon River, exploring the Amazon forest's wild world and local tribes, while highlighting the profound impact of rapid human civilization development on the last remaining wild paradise. "Tears of the Amazon" was directed by Kim Jin-man (金真萬) and Kim Hyun-chul (金賢哲). The directors and crew risked their lives to complete filming in various corners of South America's Amazon, known as the lungs of the Earth. The film presents the alarming reality of global warming and its impending destructive effects. "Tears of the Amazon" reveals that the Amazon jungle area is shrinking at a shocking rate, and due to human ambition, carbon emissions far exceed oxygen production, a terrifying fact. The documentary concludes that at this pace of development, over the next 50 years, 80% of the Amazon's dense forest will disappear, aiming to awaken human crisis awareness and encourage the cherishing and protection of Earth. This documentary was completed with assistance from the Korea Radio Promotion Agency (KORPA).
