"Island Rhapsody" - BJC Youth String Orchestra 2026 Annual Concert

"Island Rhapsody" is the BJC Youth String Orchestra's annual concert project, themed around "Island Culture" and "World Sounds." Through the interpretation of diverse repertoire, it showcases the younger generation's passion and imagination for the land, humanities, and musical art. This performance's program covers Taiwanese local compositions, European folk songs, and contemporary anime music works. Through the form of string ensemble, it leads the audience on a musical journey across cultures and eras. The concert will feature works such as Lee Che-yi's (李哲藝) "Makatao Rhapsody," Kuo Chih-yuan's (郭芝苑) composition / Chen Yi-te's (陳以德) arrangement "Taiwanese Jia Jia Melody," the Danish folk song "Sandho Wedding Trilogy," and the anime "Attack on Titan" theme song "Guren no Yumiya" (紅蓮の弓矢), presenting a diverse intersection between tradition and modernity, local and international. The program content combines artistry, cultural significance, and the infectious energy of the youth generation, showcasing the string orchestra's rich tonal layers and stage presence. The BJC Youth String Orchestra hopes that through this performance, it can provide young performers with opportunities for stage practice and artistic exchange, cultivate teamwork and musical expression skills, while promoting refined music education and deepening the audience's understanding of Taiwanese music culture and world music works.
