[Ho-jih-shan Stop-Motion Puppet Theater Workshop] / Hsiangshan Story House
Registration for last year's highly acclaimed Ho-jih-shan (禾日山) Puppet Theater (布袋戲) is now open .ᐟ.ᐟ
This year, we want to take a step further 🙋♀️
Starting from Puppet Theater, we try to bring puppets into stop-motion animation and tell stories belonging to the Hsinchu (新竹) river basin.
This course references Paek Hee-na's (白希那) work in "Magic Candy" (魔法糖果), where clay, fabric, and other mixed media are used to construct characters and scenes, and photography gives them life. We will also take the river basin and daily life as themes to translate local stories.
𓈊Things we will do together in this class:
▸ Use bottles, cans, old canvas bags, and various materials from daily life to unleash creativity and design your own puppets.
▸ Combine stories of the Hsinchu river basin to create exclusive puppet scenes.
▸ Learn to shoot stop-motion animation and make the puppets "move."
▸ Finally, bring the results together into National Tsing Hua University (清大) for exhibition ✨✨
