Hearing the Soul: Songs of Memory and Hope by Jake Heggie

This concert is organized by the Living Spring Chamber Ensemble, featuring U.S.-based vocalists Tsai Wei-shu (蔡維恕), Tsai Meng-jung (蔡孟融), and Su Ying-shan (蘇瑩珊) collaborating with outstanding Taiwanese musicians to present the emotionally charged art songs of American composer Jake Heggie. The first half selects folk songs and humorous poetic works to capture the softness of humanity, while the second half uses the core work 'Fragments of 911' to depict healing and the reconstruction of order after a disaster through multiple perspectives. Through Heggie's profound and delicate musical language, the audience will find resonance and the strength to move forward in the interweaving of history and individual memory.
