Eight Chapters of Dance: Russian Epic, Spanish Passion, and European Neoclassicism
In 2026, Teacher Sun Hui-chuan (孫慧娟)'s new series of courses will take everyone to understand nearly a century of dance history from 1911 to 2007, from the aesthetic revolution of the god of dance, Nijinsky, to the profound interpretations of literary classics and human psychology by contemporary choreographers!
Teacher Sun will use eight representative dance works spanning different styles, regions, and eras to deeply explore how dance moved from classicism to modernity, from aesthetics to philosophy. In each key era, we will see the zeitgeist, political context, and exploration of humanity behind the dance works!
Starting February 10, once a month on Tuesday afternoons at 2:00 PM, you are welcome to join Teacher Sun Hui-chuan (孫慧娟) to learn about and appreciate: how dance moved from classicism to modernity, from aesthetics to philosophy.
