Duke's Afternoon: Renaissance Bow and String Dance Feast

The Shimmering Early Music Ensemble presents "The Renaissance Dancing Master" at the 2026 New Taipei City Sheng Yin Arts Festival, recreating the music and dance culture of 15th- to 17th-century European courts and cities through historically informed performance. The first half features works of the Franco-Flemish school and late medieval dances, while the second half presents Renaissance court dances such as the pavane, galliard, and branle, blending early instruments with Baroque string instruments. Audiences are invited to experience a feast of history, aesthetics, and movement.
