Craftsmen's Soul Cast—Exhibition on the Casting Techniques of Shang and Zhou Dynasty Bronze Vessels

This exhibition is divided into two parts: The first part uses graphics, text, and videos on the exhibition walls to introduce the casting of bronze vessels, including the discovery of pottery molds, the raw materials for bronze, copper melting, the making of pottery molds, and other restoration experimental processes and results. The second part features casting-related artifacts from the Institute's collection, displaying materials for melting copper, pottery molds and master models for casting vessels such as jue, gu, you with swing handle, fang yi, ding, chariot and horse fittings, weapons, etc. It also introduces the research and experimental results on pottery molds by the Institute's senior scholars in earlier years.
