The exhibition takes "Chuang-tzu's Carefree Journey at Peimen" as its theme, showcasing Tsai Chih-chung's creations that present traditional Chinese philosophy through comics and sculpture. Viewers can immediately understand the core ideas of Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Zen through manuscripts, comics, and sculptures, offering both educational and artistic value. Tungmen Art Museum (東門美術館) focuses on the display of painting, sculpture, photography, and new media, promoting artists and their works through curated exhibitions to enhance international visibility.

Tsai Chih-chung Artist Background
Born in 1948 in Changhua, Tsai Chih-chung aspired to draw from a young age. At fifteen, he went alone to Taipei to begin his professional comic career. He has been creating for over fifty years, with total sales exceeding 40 million copies. His works have been translated into 45 languages, with a global readership of over 100 million.
He presents classical classics with humor and concise lines. His comic series include "Comic Confucian Thought," "Comic Buddhist Thought," "Comic Taoist Thought," and "Comic Zen Thought," interpreting the thoughts of Confucius and Mencius, the wisdom of the Buddha, the philosophy of Lao-tzu and Chuang-tzu, and the essence of Zen respectively.
His representative work "Chuang-tzu Speaks" was the number one bestseller at Kingstone Bookstore for ten consecutive months. Its comic format transforms profound ancient texts into easy-to-read material, allowing modern readers to quickly grasp the wisdom of Chinese classics.
