"Carrying Forward the Legacy (承先啟後)" - Yang Wei-tien (楊偉添) X Li Zhe (李喆) Concert
Connecting the experiences and insights of different life stages through art songs in various languages.
Yang Wei-tien (楊偉添) was born and grew up in Hong Kong, serving the same multinational corporation for decades before the age of sixty. His work experience took him to different cities, where he encountered music in diverse cultures: during his assignment in the Philippines, he felt the passion and color of Spanish music; while attending corporate training in France, he appreciated the delicacy and elegance of French songs; during his work in Beijing and Taipei, he deeply understood the emotions and意境 (yijing, artistic conception) embedded in Chinese songs.
Outside of work, Yang settled in Italy with his family, naturally becoming close to the beautiful melodies and sincere emotions of Italian songs; his vocal启蒙 (qimeng, early) teacher also opened the door to the profound and vast world of Russian art songs.
This concert features collaborative pianist Li Zhe (Erik) (李喆), who shared music with audiences at the Esplanade Theatre in Singapore two years ago. Tonight, the two collaborate overseas again, hoping to share with the audience this musical journey woven from different languages, cultures, and life experiences through voice and piano.
This is not just a recital but a chapter of life unfolding along with the melody.
