Advanced Adult Calligraphy Class

*Holding and Using the Brush: Participants will learn the basic methods of holding and using the brush, and develop good posture.
*The Eight Principles of Yong: Learn the basic brushstrokes of calligraphy - the Eight Principles of Yong: Ce (dot), Le (horizontal), Nu (vertical), Ti (hook), Ce (rising stroke), Lue (long left-falling stroke), Zhuo (short left-falling stroke), Die (right-falling stroke), and the turning method.
*Common Brushstroke Mistakes: Participants will learn to recognize and avoid common brushstroke mistakes.
*Introduction to Script Styles: Participants will learn the characteristics of Oracle Bone Script, Bronze Script, Seal Script, Clerical Script, Cursive Script, Regular Script, and Semi-cursive Script, and learn how to appreciate the beauty of calligraphy.
*Forms of Works: Participants will learn about the various forms of calligraphic works, stimulating the desire to create.
*Knowledge of Inscriptions: Participants will learn the knowledge, placement, wording, script style, and use of seals for inscriptions.
