Noodle stall owner Ying-ying's mother was a radio host. Ying-ying always plays recordings of her mother's radio programs from many years ago at the noodle stall, surprising many nostalgic customers. As the radio flows with familiar classic songs, it instantly transports one back to 1980s Taipei and also back to Ying-ying's childhood.
Ying-ying has been helping her father in the shop since she was little, and it was at this shop that Ying-ying met Hsueh-yu, whom she has been concerned about for nearly 40 years. Hsueh-yu often came to the shop to eat noodles. Although he could only afford a bowl of plain noodles each time, there seemed to be an inexplicable ambiguous feeling developing between them, but it was never spoken. Until a chance encounter 40 years later...
