2026 Miaoli County Art Seed Sowing Project: Paper Windmill Theatre "Adventure in Sweet Potato Forest"
The Miaoli County Government brings high-quality performing arts into every township and city in Miaoli, making art an important nutrient for children's growth. Therefore, the collaboration with Paper Windmill Theatre (紙風車劇團) to promote the "Miaoli Art Seed Sowing Project" is entering its 4th year, having cumulatively attracted over 50,000 enthusiastic audience members. From June 19 to August 23, 2026, 7 touring performances will take place, with stops in Miaoli City, Cholan Township, Chunang Township, Nanzhuang Township, Yuanli Township, Kungkuan Township, and Houlung Township, allowing more county residents and children to enjoy diverse and exciting performing arts at their doorstep.
For 33 years, Paper Windmill Theatre has continuously created imaginative and artistic original works. It not only focuses on educational theater but also emphasizes artistic depth and aesthetic expression in its works. The performance format is not limited to traditional storytelling theater; it constantly experiments with integrating theater concepts, physical performance, music, visuals, and diverse artistic elements to provide children with a more diverse viewing experience.
The five wonderful performances by "Paper Windmill Theatre" with diverse forms and content include: "Wuding Sees the World" (巫頂看世界) debuting in Miaoli, using grand song and dance forms to guide children through the ancient civilizations of Egypt and India with the help of "Wuding"; "Wuding Travels Around the World" (巫頂環遊世界) allows the audience to experience the Belize forest and the mysterious undersea world together; "Adventure in the Three Kingdoms" (三國奇遇) debuting in Miaoli, tells the story of a modern child "Xiao Mao" traveling through time to the Three Kingdoms era for a historical adventure; "Polly Goes Home" (寶莉回家) uses fairy tale theater to teach children about typhoon knowledge; "Adventure in Sweet Potato Forest" (蕃薯森林奇遇記) accompanies children on a fantasy journey with Peter Pan and Captain Hook, opening up diverse and rich artistic horizons for the children of Miaoli.
