2026 Leave Your Footprint Smartphone Photography Workshop (Second Session)

This workshop will be led by Manager Hsiao Po-chun (蕭博駿), who has been deeply rooted in the local area for many years, guiding everyone into Yuanli, from local industries to humanistic stories, to gain an in-depth understanding of this land. This year's workshop is divided into two sessions, each inviting a professional photographer—Teacher Chen An-chia (陳安嘉) and Teacher Shen Wei-hung (沈暐翃)—to accompany everyone in exploring more possibilities of imagery with their smartphones.
This session is led by photographer Shen Wei-hung (沈暐翃), who has collaborated with us for a long time. For him, photography is not just about recording; it is a form of 'gazing and understanding.' Over the years, he has traveled both domestically and internationally through his lens, accumulating rich creative experience from film festival documentation to brand collaborations, while continuously focusing on the connections between places and people. From rush-weaving crafts to community festivals, his images always capture those fleeting yet deeply warm moments, giving everyday scenery the power to be seen.
From analyzing smartphone photography functions to composition techniques and on-site shooting, participants will step by step enter the daily life of the Shan-chiao Community: old houses, temples, markets, rush grass fields, and seasonal field landscapes. Through walking and observing, they will re-understand the relationship between imagery and the land.
The value of an image lies not in dazzling technique, but in whether it can convey the connection between you and this land. What this course wants to bring to participants is not just methods for taking photos, but an ability to 'see' anew.
