2026 KSAF—Chengang Little Theater Series "Eight Eight"

"Eight Eight" is a work integrating contemporary dance ╳ live electronic sound ╳ live percussion ╳ large-scale stage installation, transforming factual events, field surveys, and the Taiwanese folk belief ritual of [Ba Chao Ke Yi (拔超科儀)] through the interpretation of bodily movement. It tells the story of a great flood in 2009 that shook the nation and the world in Chiahsien Township (甲仙鄉), Kaohsiung County (高雄縣), Taiwan—a solemn ceremony to release wandering souls. The intention is not a sorrowful review of history, but to sincerely convey to the audience through the work the reflections on the energy of existence and the passing of things, as well as the gratitude for the land's stories and living beings, realized during the creative process.
